I parted ways with the group again on Tuesday in order to meet up my friend Kelly for lunch. We went to business school together and also both worked at GS after grad school. It was very nice to catch up with her as well and reminisce about both the good (business school) and bad (namely our prior “lives” – if you can call them that – in the world of investment banking).
I rejoined the group for dinner at Otto, which is Mario Batali’s pizzeria in Greenwich Village. The food was great and the interior of the restaurant is very interesting – it’s modeled after an Italian train station. Due to our gluttony, we decided to walk the 30+ blocks up 5th Avenue back to our hotel. Fortunately, the evening temperature was fairly mild and allowed for a comfortable return journey.

My final day in NYC was rather unproductive and spent saying my goodbyes to everyone in advance of my red-eye flight back to Geneva. All in all, it was a great trip – in a way it brought me back to my grad school days in NYC when I actually had the opportunity to enjoy the city and take advantage of all that it has to offer.
