It seems that “roundabouts” are much more common in Europe than in the U.S. I’m not sure why they haven’t caught on more in the U.S., as they seem to be a fairly efficient way to manage traffic at an intersection.
Perhaps it’s analogous to the metric system’s inability to gain traction in the U.S. -- regardless of how logical an alternative solution is, we Yanks just like things the way they are thank you very much...
