Ukraine

After a day back in Switzerland, I left for my next stop – Ukraine. I have meetings in Kiev next week, so Emilie and I decided to come for the weekend in order to visit the city before my work-related obligations.

We arrived late tonight and stayed in what I would describe as an apartment building that’s managed as a hotel (apparently this type of setup is fairly normal in Kiev). It was nice in that you didn't really feel like you were in a hotel, yet you still had all the related benefits (notably housekeeping).

The ride from the airport was a bit scary as our driver seemed to be the only one remotely obeying the speed limit (assuming there was one). Every few seconds a car or SUV would fly by us doing at least 140mph. Fortunately, the highway was otherwise fairly empty.
